Semanotus bifasciatus (Matsch.) is not only a main trunk pest of Cupressaceae plants and a main pest of Cumninghamia lancaolata (lamb), but also a kind of quarantine objects in China. The researcher have gotten this pest generation law in the Tiantan Park by several years research, have researched controlling adult of this pest by using Um-mines, have researched controlling this pest by setting Scleroderma guani Xiao et Wu, have researched tempting and killing this pest by log lure.The main results are as follow:1. This pest has one generation within one year in Beijing area. In the Tiantan Park, in 13-15 March the imago comes out of the emergence holes by biting the bark in the time of maximal temperature 10℃. There are 3 peaks of pest quantities continuously in the maximal temperature 15℃ -28℃ from late March to middle April, decreasing day by day after middle April.2. 3 concentrations of Um-mines to imago have the same killing ability as 1:2000 deltamethrin. The mortality is 92. 57%. The mortality decreased little by little as time extended, but it is 77. 67% after 30d. The mortality of 1:2000 deltamethrin is 72.7% after 10d. This result show that the medical effect time of 1:400 Um-mines lasted so long as to 30d, exceeded greatly 1:2000 deltamethrin. The imparity of the different spaying equipment influence on medical effect of contacted-breaking microcapsules pesticide is not distinct.3. The ratio of the longicorn to wasp is 1:3-1:6. The infest-rate to pest is ll.l%-76.8%, the average is 38.4%. The infest-rate is much higher setting time from late May to early June than in early or May in Beijing.4. The bigger diameter of log as lure is, the more quantities of pest collected is. The log of 15cm has good effect, but it is little and it not convenient to make inspection. So the log of 10cm is better. From the result of pest lure, the quantities of lure is bigger by means of log lying on the ground than setting up log, the percent of lying exceeded 11.96%. The means of log lying on the ground is better.5. Making and putting into practice the way of integrated control, it is based on making the trees strong by strengthen maintaining, its main ways are biological control and physical control, its secondary measure is chemical control. Making controlling Semanotus bifasciatus (Matsch.) in the system of public garden keep the harm under the Economic Injury Level.
