This research was carried out in Hulunbeier district, Inner Mongolia. Based on the investigation and analysis of climatic conditions, soil conditions and soil pool of grass seeds, we studied the effect of fensing, artificial grassland and Chinese herb medicine culture on the plant recovery and desertification control of regression grassland. The main results are as follows:1. Hulunbeier grassland has the environment basement of self-recovery. The climatic conditions is suitable for forage grasses grow; Soil nutrient conditions is not good and N P, K fertilizer need to be supplied; Stabilized dune, grazing grassland and fensing grassland soil seed bank have enough seed number (2798-3217seeds/m2) to self-recovery.2. Fensing improves the plant recovery of regression grassland significantly. After enclose, the characters of plant community changed dramatically , plant rapidly recovered and the building-community species change from C.gracilis and Carex Duriuscula to Agropyrom cristatum and Chinese wildrye, the plant species in enclosed grassland is 60% higher than that un-enclosed. At the same time, The high, plant cover degree and yield of grassland increased by 66.7%~188.9%, 54.5%~131% and 38.9%~226.8%, respectively. It can be conclude that enclosure is an efficient means to the recovery of Hulunbeier regression grassland.3.The production of cultural oat, Lucerne and some perennation forage grasses remarkable higher than grassland's original production. In Hulunbeier district, to develop artificial forage grasses will accelerate the recovery speed of regression grassland. The species need to be developed are oat, Lucerne and some perennation forage grasses.4. Herder's income can be increased dramatically buy plant Chinese herb medicine, such as Saposhnikovia divaricata(turcz. ) Schischk and Radix Isatidis. A new model was given that the desertification control of Hulunbeier grassland can be drived by Saposhnikovia divaricata(turcz. ) Schischk industrialization.5. The recovering effect of grass grid on moving dune was remarkableo Build grass grid on the moving dune and plant grazing seed, the plant cover degree can be restored to 30-50% and totally recovered in the second year.
