Iron is the necessary micronutrient for cellular metabolism used by almost all bacteria. It has been found that iron has effect not only on the growth , but also on the pathogenicity of the pathogens. It regulates expression of pathogenic genes. In this paper, the result showed that iron is relative to the growth and pathogencity of the pathogen Erwinia carotovora var. carotovora and Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica. And then the related genes to iron metabolism are found and analyzed by bioinformatics method.Biological and molecular detective methods are used to disclose the relationship between iron and the pathogen of Ecc and Eca. A serial of concentration of ferric are sprayed on the strains detected to disclose the effect on the growth and pathegencity . The result showed the concentration of Fe~3+ can promote the growth and pathogencity especially the concentration of 0.1-1 mmol/L , while the high concentration of iron has negative effect on the pathogens, Ecc and Eca..Through softwares including NCBI/Blast 2.2.13 , DNAMAN, DNAStar , TreeView et al , analyzing genes that related to iron metabolism in Eca genome , 70 ralative genes to iron metabolism are found . Among the 70 genes , 50 are functionally known, 20 genes are putative function. 27 genes are relative to ferric iron uptake , 3 genes are relative to ferrous iron uptake , 10 genes relative to heme uptake , 1 gene to iron storage protein , 7 genes are relative to iron responsive regulators , 11 genes are probably relative to other iron metabolism .Through analysis of sequence similiarity , it has been found that there is a gene encoding a repressor that is dependent on zur gene in six genes that are similar to fur gene . 19bp Palindromic sequence (GATAATGATAATCATTATC) of fur box is used to amplify in 70 genes , the result indicates that 26 of 70 genes probobly have fur box .Phylogenetic tree of relative genes to iron metabolism shows that, except for 4 genes , other 66 genes are basically consistant in functional classification .
