Referring to correlative literature about information management, monitoring and appraisal infarmland soil. The author researched soil information management applying GIS technique andexplored theory from features of soil management and actual requirements of agricultural productionsecurity in 850 farm. The paper is composed of the following four parts: (1)Map of 850 farm has been digitized by method of hand-held map track including 995 piecesof farmland. 30 coordinates both sampling point and locating point have been gained by GPS fieldsurveying. 26 soil samples habe been gathered. Each sample including soil nutrient, soil heavy metalpollutant and so on has been analyzed. Investigating and collecting some information including thetext, the statistics, experiment and each kind of attribute data material. Data has been saved in thedatabase by spatial data and attribute data integration methods. (2)Each kind of farmland soil information have been analyzed and researched in 850 farm.Data model of soil quality monitor-appraisa and information traces have been established by E-Rmodel modelling method in terms of system goal. (3)By incorporating MapObjects components in Farmland soil management informationsystem, this system was achieved many visualization functions including soil basic information andfeature information , management of soil quality monitor , index selection of analysis and appraisal ,result management of analysis and appraisal and so on. (4)Soil environmental quality has been assessed by single pollution index and Nemorowcomposite index. Soil fertility has been assessed by grey linked and the main elements analyticalmethods. Accorded to above methods, conclusion of soil evaluation is following: soil environmentwere not contaminated, it was determined eligible therefor it was fit for security agriculturalproduction;Employed grey link analysis to evaluate farm soil fertility for six samples, conclusion isthat farmlands of 4 sample are second-class, the other for third;Used main elements analyticalmethods to analyze six samples for 850 farm, soil fertility evaluation rankings: 3, 4, 6, 1, 2, 5. (5)Soil variability has been studied by routine statistics method and spatial analysis method. The result showed that there existed spatial variability of soil nutrients. N, P, K and OM had mediumvariability, which were mainly affected by routine fertilization measures. On the contrary, Organicmatter has a smaller spatial variability. There existed medium spatial correlation in N, P, K and OM.
