As one of the main economical plants of our country, peanutplays an important role in economical development of the roral area. For a long time, the shortage of efficient soil potassium had become the main limitative factors in gaining higher and stable yield. Nutrient solution culture, pot experiment, field test and chemical analysis were used to compare the difference of potassium efficiency among 12 peanut genotypes. The potassium absorption , utilization characteristics and roots' physiological and biological chemistry property under the potassium stress were also been studied to get some ways of different potassium efficiency of various peanut genotypes. The main results of study are as followed:1.The dry weight and potassium content of peanut with potassium application significantly higher than that of the potassium deficient treatment and significant difference were found among 12 peanut genotypes, so we got potassium-efficiency genotype LUHUA 11,HAIHUA 1,LUHUA 9 and potassium-inefficiency genotype 135,JIHUA 94 and BAISHA 131 in the experiment.2.In the pot experiment without potassium application(content of rapidly available potassium is 67.58mg/kg),the potassium content of different peanut genotypes ranged from 10.13mg/kg to 17.75mg/kg. Potassium application in soil can improve the growth of peanut. There was significant difference among the absorption and utilization ability of different genotypes and the LUHUA 11 was the best genotype.3. The volume and roots activity and the new leaves' calatase activity of potassium-efficiency peanuts LUHUA 11 were significantly higher than those of potassium-inefficiency genotype, and that of the soil pH under potassium deficient stress decreased greatly too.
