Soil erosion has become one of the most important environmental problems in the world, especially in China. Soil erosion can be classified into waterpower erosion, wind power erosion, freeze thawing erosion and gravitation erosion. However, waterpower erosion is the most active erosion form, which was mainly caused by precipitation. Therefore, it is of great value to estimate the precipitation erosion and analyze change law of time and space of the erosion. This will help to predict quantitatively, estimate the soil erosion in some area and control the loss of water and soil. Considering the lack of the data of natural rainfall and the systematic research of rainfall erosion, artificial simulation of rainfall was adopted to study the rainfall erosion in the hilly area of purple soil in this paper based on the above goals. The conclusions were as follows:1 It is the base of learning soil erosion mechanism to study the characteristic of rainfall mechanics. The size of rain drops determines the quality and dropping velocity of rainfall drops, while the quality and velocity directly determines the kinetic energy. The study of raindrop chromatogram and mechanics characteristic of artificial simulation rainfall showed: the distribution of raindrop size was in line with the Best function; The equation d50 =1.80I0.30 was fit for estimating the relationship between the median diameter of raindrop and raininess; The logarithmic function e=21.886+ 14.3131gl was calculated to determine the unit kinetic energy and rain intensity; There were significantly positive correlation between rainfall event kinetic energy (∑E) and rainfall amount. Power function ∑E=16.88P1.06 could be used to explain this correlation2.Based on the principal theory of kinetics and research findings of rainfall kinetics energy in hilly area of purple soil, the raininess correlation was established to show the rainfall similarity, which attribute to the introduction and application of the experimental results of simulation...
