Knowing about characters of soil erosion is an important part to do water and soil conservation well in one area. It has important meaning and practical value to do water and soil conservation well in one area(or country) which using small watershed as basic unit to comprehensive control, programming reasonable, searching for control measure, analyzing relations between measures based on some features of small watershed such as landform, climate, moisture of soil and finding best control effect between measures in the process of controling water and soil loss.This study has taken runoff plots which were built at soil and water conservation monitoring station in FuLing area as trial foundation. It's data of runoff and rainfall observation in 2005 year has been used to analyse. The physical and chemic qualitys of soil in FuLing area have been analyzed based on collecting soil sample in different land used pattern in four typical watershed. Bssed on above, in order to find better planting mode for water and soil conservation in this area, sediment loss in several representative crops have been observed in XiBuHe watershed of purple soil. The purpose of this paper is to provide referenced data for doing water and soil conservation well in future in FuLing area.This paper is chiefly divided into three parts, the first study is the understanding soil physical and chemical qualitys in FuLing area. Most soil takes on neural and acidic character in whole area, the proportion of >0.05mm sand grain content is high and <0.001mm clay content is comparatively low. Antierodibility of 0.25 to 0.05mm and 0.05 to 0.01mm is better than other parts of water stability aggregate, it is also preferably in land used pattern such as lawn which suffers from less disturbeing.
