Hylobitelus xiaoi, a new risky pest, was first found in Wugongshan forest center in Ji'an, Jiangxi province, and mostly imperilling Pinus elliottii Engel and the second is Pinus massoniana. At present the researches on Hylobitelus xiaoi focus on it's biology and Pinus elliottii Engel host, and lesser reports are published, while more reports are published on Monochamus alternatus Hope and Dendrolimus punctatus Walker, so these reports are some basic theories of this research. But these reports did not mension the occurense and development of these pests in Wuyi scenery spot, the vertical distribution of arthropod community in Pinus massoniana forests, and the spatial pattern of Hylobitelus xiaoi larvae analysised by geostatistical theory. The paper reported the research on the occurrence and development of Hylobitelus xiaoi , Monochamus alternatus Hope and Dendrolimus punctatus Walker, the vertical distribution of arthropod community in Pinus massoniana forests, and the geostatistical analysis on spational pattern of Hylobitelus xiaoi larvae in Wuyi scenery spot. The main results were summarized as follows:1. The survey in forests showed that Hylobitelus xiaoi occurred at different level in Wuyi scenery spot. Obviously the occurrence correlated with the position of the slope, the diameters at the breast height, the vegetation cover and the ages of under 40 year old. The pines at the middle position of a slope were harmed mostly, but these at the bottom position harmed fewly. The larvae obviously woule host on these pines with 21~60 cm diameters, and the pines under 40 years old had a mighty obviously relationship with the population of Hylobitelus xiaoi larvae.2. The methods of survey in forests and FJ-Ma-03 attractant were applied to research the occurrence and development of Monochamus alternatus Hope. The results showed that Monochamus alternatus Hope had a low population density in Wuyi scenery spot, and the population of adults had 2 peak time in a year, one was from the middle ten days of May to the first ten days of June, the other one was from the last ten days of June to the middle ten days of Jully. In the 2 peaks the numbers of trapped adults was 90.4 percent of all trapped adults. The results also showed that at the geography conditions of Wuyi scenery spot Monochamus alternatus Hope might occur at any altitude. The numbers of trapped adults had no obviously correlation with air pressure, temperature, difference in temperature, relative humidity and rain.3. The methods of survey in forests and trapping adults by frequency trembler grid lamps were applied to research the occurrence and development of Dendrolimus punctatus Walker, the results showed that Dendrolimus punctatus Walker were controlled in Wuyi scenery spot, but usually the pest occurred periodically, so the monitoring was to be continued. There were 26112 samples collected by frequency...
