By using the current modern research methods and instruments, the main forest tree species were selected for the researches on water transportation and its regulation mechanism.Research materials are Robinia pseudoacacia, Populus euramericana, Quercus acutissima, Castanea mollissima, Diospyros lotus L, Amygdalus davidiana, Armeniaca sibirica, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Sophora saponia, Platanus hispanica, Ligustrum quihoui Carr, Fraxinus chinensis, Euonymus fortunei, Wisteria sinensis .The research has two parts: (1)10-year-old species were selected as the specimens for measurement of hydraulic conductivity, water potential, sapwood xylem anatomy structure to research water transportation regulation mechanism such as xylem embolism vulnerability (VXE), water capacity (WC) regulation mechanism, conduit character and water hydraulic structure, by using flushing method, a pressure chamber and safranine-fast green double stain; (2) Q. acutissima of 40 years old in the Forestry Centre of Forestry Science Academy of Taishan were selected to research the temporal-spatial variation of sap flow rate in the trunk sapwood by micro-meteorological Station and thermal diffusion probe (TDP).The main research results fulfilled in this article: 1)Under the guide of water transportation regulation mechanism, VXE of P. euramericana., Q. acutissima, D. lotus L, A. davidiana, A. sibirica, Z. bungeanum, S. saponia, P. hispanica, L. quihoui Carr, F. chinensis, E. fortunei, W. sinensis were measured and result showed: P. euramericana., L. quihoui Carr, W. sinensis, A. davidiana, A. sibirica, Z. bungeanum were the most vulnerable species, D. lotus L was the most invulnerable species to embolism,...
