Pinus armandii Franch is a local five-needle pine of China. It's one of the main trees in mountain regions of Southwest of China and an important timber tree in the West of China. It's also one of the main trees for forest in Yunnan Province and the Upper and Middle Protection Forests of Changjiang River. Most armand pine forests are artificial, so they are easy to be attacked by armand pine blister rust (Cronartium ribicola J.C.Fischer). Only in the Western China, the diseased areas have been more than 130,000hm~2. This disease has caused great damages to armand pine and has been a potentially high risk for the Upper and Middle Protection Forests of Changjiang River. Some positive study results have been obtained on pathogen, pathology, epidemiology and control strategies over last decades, but the disease has been spreading rapidly because there are still some difficulties in using some control methods in fields.Biocontrol has become research focus in forest pathology because its security and little pollution to the environment. But the natural environment is complex, so the control effects are different between in-door experiments and out-side control action. Beside humidity, the main factor that affects the spore germination of mycoparasites, the interaction of microbe is also an important factor, worthy of further study. So the kind, quantities and changes of dendrocola fungi on healthy and infected (by Cronartium ribicola) Pinus armandii are very important to the growth of the mycoparasites. With basic principles and methods of mycology and forest pathology, this study was carried out to find out the composition and number changes of fungi on healthy and infected P. armandii. According to the development stages of C. ribicola, four collection times were carried out in the three main diseased regions of Yunnan Province (Dongchuan Er Er Er Forest Farm, Qiaojia Mashu Forest Farm and Dali Luopingshan Forest Farm) during April, 2003 and April, 2004. The main results were listed as the following:(1) In all, 1572 strains of fungi have been obtained in the three collection sites, at the four collection times, and with two kinds of surface sterilizing methods. And the strains from infected P. armandii were more than those from healthy ones.(2) No matter healthy barks or infected ones were used, and no matter which surface sterilizing method was used, strains obtained from samples collected in October, 2003 (0) were the fewest. The average strains from one sample were 2.5—5.38. On the contrary, the...
