| The paper mainly describes the studies on the chemical constituents of the roots and seeds from Jatropha curcas L., which belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae. Jatropha curcas distributes widely in Guizhou province, China. Twenty-one compounds were obtained from the studies emanating from the present research. Among them, the structures of seventeen compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS spectral data. From the roots of Jatropha curcas L., 17 compounds were isolated and 13 of them were elucidated as Curcusone A (MG-1), Curcusone B (MG-2), Curcusone C (MG-3), Curcusone D (MG-4), Jatropholone A (MG-5), Jatropholone B (MG-6), 19-Hydroxycurcusone (MG-7), β-sitosterol (MG-8), n-dotriacontanol (MG-9), Dotriacontyl(E)-ferulate (MG-10), 3,3 ,4 tri-methoxylellagic acid (MG-11), Oleanolic acid (MG-14) and Daucosterol (MG-17), among which, 7 compounds were diterpenes constituents. In addition, 5 compounds, MG-7, MG-10, MG-9, MG-11 and MG-14 were isolated from Jatropha plant for the first time.During the studies on the seeds of Jatropha curcas four known compounds were isolated by the means of silica gel column chromatography. Their structures were characterized by chemical and spectroscopic means as β-sitosterol (MZ-1), 4-O-α-furan psicose-β-O-pyran allose (MZ-2), ursolic acid (MZ-3) and 2-O-α-D-pyran mannose-α-D-pyran mannose (MZ-4). All of them were isolated for the first time from the seeds of Jatropha curcas. |
