The drying is an important method of preserving farm and sideline products, and it is also applied widely in farm and sideline producing. Presently, the air-curing drying is still mostly applied in drying Chinese prickly ash. The period of drying the Chinese prickly ash by air-curing drying is so long that air-curing drying is not beneficial for the development of Chinese prickly ash's industrialization, and there are some disadvantages about hot air drying, such as non-uniformity, slow drying rate relatively and so on. Therefore, advanced microwave technology is applied on drying Chinese prickly ash firstly for finding a new road of Chinese prickly ash drying.The article tries to establish a simple Chinese prickly ash drying indicators system by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and calculate the evaluation index's relative importance. The final purpose is not only find which drying method is better, but also find which is the most important factor in drying Chinese prickly ash. Furthermore, through the system we can attain a more rational drying craft.Through the experimental study of Chinese prickly ash hot air drying and intermittent microwave drying's drying properties, it is found out that the better drying process of hot air drying and intermittent microwave drying, and then compared the drying quality, drying rate and power dissipation, between the two drying methods. An experiment on the hot air drying operation of Chinese prickly ash was carried out under the condition of different hot air temperatures and different air stream velocity by applying static method, found out the drying curve and drying rate curve and analyzed temperatures and velocity on the drying quality and drying rate. Another experiment on the intermittent microwave drying operation of Chinese prickly ash was carried out under the condition of different heating time, intermittent time and quantity, found out the drying curve and drying rate curve and analyzed heating time, intermittent time and quantity on the drying quality, drying rate and power dissipation.Comparing Chinese prickly ash hot air drying with the intermittent microwave drying, it is found out that Chinese prickly ash's quality through hot air drying is better than the one through intermittent microwave drying, but intermittent microwave drying is better than hot air drying on drying rate and drying power dissipation. Intermittent microwave drying's power dissipation is 0.605kJ/g and drying rate is 7.57min/g, but hot air drying's power dissipation as many as 46.443kJ/g and drying rate is 3min/g. Therefore, associating the hot air drying with intermittent microwave drying and full play to themselves' advantages, a more rational drying method can be found that needs less power dissipation, has higher drying rate and better drying quality.On the base of this experimental study between Chinese prickly ash hot air drying and...
