In northern China, drought and soil erosion are very severe. Water storage pit irrigation is a kind of new irrigation method that solves the two problems in hilly region. This method has the characteristic of saving water, molding moisture, drought defying, increasing production and decreasing soil erosion. In the paper, the objectives are to ascertain sound the technical parameter and evaluate the irrigation effect of the water storage pit method by researching the soil moisture movement of the water storage pit method in order to provide the theoretical base for researching on storage pit irrigation from the indoors to the field.In this paper, the main results are as follows:1.
