Helicoverpa armigera is a kind of great harmful insect, which brings huge loss of economy to our country and the world every year. So the prevention of H. armigera arouses the attention of people. However, the traditional insect-killing mode, which has low effect and causes severe environment pollution and so on, does not meet the new demands of the society. Biology pesticide of insect-killing emerges as the times require. The ecdysis mechanism is very important for the growth of H. armigera, so it is a better way to kill them that we find out the ecdysis mechanism of H. armigera. The molting of H. armigera is a cascade which is regulated by an element containing a series of genes. It contains molt-relating ealy gene cluster, molt-relating late gene cluster and molt-relating inter gene cluster. Ecdysone, ecdysteroid receptor (EcR) and ultraspiracle(USP)together make of a trimer, then bind DNA to induce expression of molt-regulating transcription factor which regulates the expression of relating gene cluster in molting cascade. It has been studied that molt-regulating ranscription process is very complex. Some coregulating factors, not directly binding DNA, also participate in the process. Cofactors, which comprise coactivating factors and corestraining factors, could promote or restrain the transcription of target gene through some kinds of mechanism. Coactivating factors are vital when transcription factors involve nuclear recepors reglating gene transctription. They usually form the compound which could mediate interactions between nuclear receptors and basic transtription components, modify histone and lead to chromatin reconstruction. The speciality and activity of coactivating factors are also regulated by covalence modification. Our laboratory has cloned the gene HMG176. The full length of HMG176 gene...
