The forest resource are important components of natural resource, which is the foundation of the forest construction, of national economy development, of important of people's living standards and one of the important condition of national civilization prosperous .Grasp forest resources information is the prerequisite of science management forest resource, which including type of forest resource, the quantity, the quality, the distribution, the growth rule and the environment condition and so on.Compares with the tradition forest investigation method, using the Remote sensing technology carries on the forest investigation have many merits such as macroscopic, dynamic, quickly and save the cost. Applies the Remote sensing technology to the forest monitor and investigation has the extremely vital significance and value. At present, our country are request to use Remote sensing investigation while carry on the Continuous Forest Inventory, which primary data are TM, ETM and SPOT 1-4. Now, some Province use SPOT5 carry on forest investigation, but the systemic research and appraise of SPOT5 application in forest investigation has been reported rarely.This research regards SPOT5 as the information source, utilizing the remote sensing technology to carry on the experiment study of the forest investigation in Zixing city Swan mountain forestry center. The main content studied include image process, Optimum band combination, image fusion analysis, comparison the different classified method and efficiency of emote sensing technology application in forest investigation. The main content and conclusion of this research is summed up as follows:(1) The Optimum band combination isl(R) 4(G) 3(B). Have carried on the every band amount of information to SPOT5 in study area, gather and analyze standard deviation, coefficient correlation and typical objects spectrum reflectivity curves. Calculate Covariance Matrix between bands, coefficient correlation and entropy. Through the quantitative analysis, the union entropy and Optimum Index Factor confirm the Optimum band combination make up as 1(R) 4(G) 3(B).(2) IHS transformation is the best fusion method in study area.Different merge...
