Objective To observe the apical sealing ability of nHA/CaSiO3composite materials. Methods Forty-two straight root canal teeth were used in this study. The teeth were randomlydivided into three test groups,12in each group:(1) Nanohydroxyapatite/calcium silicate toothrubber tip group (n-HA\Ca);(2) Hydroxyapatite/calcium silicate composite tooth paste plustooth rubber tip group (HA\Ca);(3) Nanohydroxyapatite with rubber tip group (HA). Inaddition, there were positive and negative control groups (3teeth each). Stepwise regressivemethod was used to prepare the root canal. Lateral compression method was used for root canalfilling. Glucose microleakage measurement and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) wereperformed to observe the seal tightness of root filling material and root canal wall, and toevaluate the apical sealing ability. Results Negative control group was not detected the leakage of glucose within30days, Inpositive control group was detected high concentrations of glucose, and rapidly risingtrend.from first day. Three experimental pairwise comparison, in1,4,7days, the value of microleakage was no statistically significant (P>0.05). starting from the10th day, the value of eachteam gap was widening, and the HA\Ca group is higher than the n-HA\Ca group, howeverthere was no statistically significant difference between the n-HA group and the HA\Ca group,HA/Ca and n-HA/Ca group were statistically significant difference (P﹤0.05), the startingfrom15days,The difference between three groups have statistical significance. At thebeginning of the20days HA\Ca group and n-HA group were differences again statisticalsignificance. In general,Phenol sulfuric acid test showed significant differences in the glucoseleakage concentration among the three test groups (t=2.4647, P<0.05).Conclusions The apical sealing effect of hydroxyapatite/calcium silicate material is betterthan that of hydroxyapatite/calcium silicate composite material and nanohydroxyapatite.
