Background:The patellar fracture patient may cause soft tissue swelling of varying degreearound the joint in its early stage, which is also the contraindication during the orthopedics surgery, however, the traditional Chinese medicine, with the advantage of reasonable price and easy preparation, has the good curative effects in reducing swelling. The medicine used in healing wound may be effective in activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis, alleviating edema, dredging meridian and relieving pain before the surgery, however, it is not that convinced and lacks data support in terms of clinical application and safety features.Goal:Through comparing with the traditional ice compress and observing the curative effect, it is aimed to applythe limitation of wound medicine into pre-operation anti-swelling and evaluate the clinical effect as well as the safety.Method:60 patellar fracture patients whowerehospitalized in February from 2014 to 2015 were selected as research samples. The patients, with 7 days treatment course, were divided into 2 groups treating as Contrast Group (using ice pack) and Experimental Group (using wound medicine), and then were observed, compared, evaluated and analyzed according to the ecchymosis, pain and swelling conditions respectively on the day of injury, as well as the first, third, fifth and seventh day after the injury.Result:1.Wound medicine has great effect on relieving pain and improving ecchymosison the early stage (P< 0.05).2.Using wound medicine can effectively prevent the increased pain of affected part within 3 days after the injury. (P<0.05) 3.Adverse drug reaction:neither Groupsappears such side-effect as blister ache, skin rashes and pruritus. Conclusion:Wound medicine has great effect on relieving pain and improving ecchymosis on pre-operation stage and can significantly improve the swelling degree of partial soft-tissue. It can also reduce the operating time and has little obvious flash on patients’skin. In conclusion, it is safe, effective and worthy to promote clinically in large scale.
