BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:As a disease name, "cardiodynia" was first seen in a medical book of Qin and Han Dynasties called 《ZU BI SHI YI MAI JIU JING》, which had a little description of symptoms. 《HUANG DI NEI JING》 described symptoms of "cardiodynia" and classify it into two kinds:"Jue cardiodynia" & "Zhen cardiodynia", but there is no therapeutic principle. These two kinds have different prognosis. After that, Zhang Zhongjing from Han Dynasty talked about the etiology and pathogenesis in his book 《JIN GUI YAO LVE》,he said the pathogenesis is "YANG deficiency and YIN excess "and "deficiency in origin and enrichment in symptom." Depending on the symptoms he gave some appropriate treatment prescriptions. Ge Hong and Wang Shuhe from Jin Sui Dynasties further elaborated the difference between "Jue cardiodynia" & "Zhen cardiodynia" and make "Jue cardiodynia" actually a disease of "XIN BAO LUO". Li Gao, Zhu Danxi from Song Dynasty thought cardiodynia and stomachache are the same disease. Liu Wansu classified cardiodynia into Han Jue, Re Jue and Da Shi three kinds, expanded the definition of cardiodynia. On treatment, he liked to benefit spleen and stomache. In Ming Qing Dynasties, Wangken Tang Qing Dynasties made a distinction between cardiodynia and stomachache in his book 《ZHENG ZHI ZHUN SHENG》. Doctors enriched the understanding of the pathogenesis of cardiodynia by annotating Zhang Zhongjing’s 《JIN GUI YAO LVE》. Ye Tianshi treated cardiodynia in HuoXueZhuYu, Wang Qingren particular emphasized on blood and qi, creating the famous prescriptions GeXiaZhuYuTang, XueFuZhuYuTang, ShaoFuZhuYuTang, BuYangHuanWuTang and TongQiaoHuoXueTang, and at the same importance in promoting blood circulation of qi, enriching the relatively monotonous since zhongjing treatment of cardiodynia, its theories and prescriptions still being widely used in the treatment of cardiodynia. At present, Chinese medicine practitioners are talking about "Jue cardiodynia" in the "cardiodynia" basic corresponding Western medicine "Angina", modern Chinese medicine overall view, "cardiodynia" pathogenesis roughly is:Yang deficiency can not warm the blood and meridians, and it can not run the blood and qi; Bad food or drinking too much injure spleen then cause phlegm block in vein; Blood stagnation in the invasion of pathogenic cold because of Yang deficiency. They are all extended from zhongjing’s "YANG deficiency and YIN excess ", "deficiency in origin and enrichment in symptom" theory. Disease location is heart, but according to the theory of internal organs, the remaining four are closely associated with heart. Symptom of Cardiodynia is chest pain, the pain is paroxysmal, mainly in the middle or left chest, and may radiate to the upper limbs, head and neck. Face pale, sweating or perspiration, breathlessness can also show in Cardiodynia. and other treatment when blood stasis phlegm qi based; Remission period shows shortness of breath, palpitations, fatigue because of heart, spleen, kidney qi deficiency. Treatment should emphasize the balance of yin and yang, benefit qi and blood, especially heart yang and heart qi. The mild patients’seizure frequency is low, the degree of chest pain is tiny or vague discomfort; the severe patients have severe chest pain, the nature of pain is twisted. Attack may have incentives, mostly tired, satiation, and emotional and cold. In this paper, I collect the description of definition, pathogenesis, treatment of Cardiodynia in traditional Chinese medicine classic books, summe up the new approach in terms of the modern Chinese medicine treatment of Cardiodynia. I summarizes recent progress of modrn Western medicine research in angina. Methods:In this paper, I use two kinds of research methods:literature collection, clinical case analysis. I study and analysis Professor Zhang Jiuliang’s clinical experience of treating coronary heart disease. Typical analysis report two cases of angina patients diagnosed by radiological methods, in one case the patient use combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment, the symptoms and the results of CTA after treatment significantly improved.
