Study On The Effect Of Chinese Herbal Medicine On The Stability Of Cream

Objective:(1)Study the effects of gypsum fibrosum, alumen, catechu and some other Chinese medicines on the stability of creams base and investigate the methods to rosovle the stability problems. (2)Study the stability of Compound Chabai cream and find the solution.Method:(1) The study of stability of TCM creams of gypsum fibrosum, alumen, catechu and some other Chinese medicines and sovling methodThis paper choosed 8 kind of Chinese medicines for test, concluding gypsum fibrosum, alumen, catechu ect. First, according to the pharmacological actions of the chemical constituents of these Chinese medicines, choose extraction methods, and then add the extract to the water phase to prepare cream.During the test, the creams that content different concentrations were prepared, to study the effect of TCM concentration on the stability of creams.The stability experiments were carried on by observating the appearance characters, viscosity, pH, centrifugal stability ect, and in order to put forward an objective evaluation of creams comprehensive marking index system was established. The creams that have high comprehensive score were stable, and the creams that have low comprehensive scores were instable. Carbomer was used to solve the stability proplems of instable creams.(2) The study on stability of Compound Chabai cream and solving method.According to the pharmacological actions and clinical indications of hese Chinese medicines, choose proper extraction methods, and then add the extract to the water phase to prepare cream.The study method of Compound Chabai cream is the same with the above.Results:The results of study on the stability of TCM cream of gypsum fibrosum, ruddle, alumen, talcum powder, catechu, galla chinensis, burnet, terminalia show that except for ruddle and talcum powder, the other 6 kinds of Chinese medicinal herbs all have great influence on the stability of cream base. And the higher concentration has the greater influence. The critical concentration of traditional Chinese mineral medicine gypsum fibrosum and alumen is respectively 0.2% and 0.15%. The critical concentration of catechu, galla chinensis, burnet, terminalia that have high content of tannins is respectively 12%,18%, 7.5%,5.5%. The results of solving methods indicats that add appropriate amount of carbomer can increase the stability of creams.The result of study on stability of Compound Chabai cream and solving method show that the stability of Compound Chabai cream was power and add appropriate amount carbomer can solve this proplem.Conclusions:Traditional Chinese mineral medicine gypsum fibrosum, alumen and Chinese medicines of tannin catechu, galla chinensis, burnet, terminalia all have great effect on the stability of cream base, and the influence degree was concerned with the concentration of the Chinese medicines, and add appropriate amount of carbomer can make the creams more stable.The stability of Compound Chabai cream was power, and alumen, catechu were the main factors problely. However, add 0.5% carbomer could increase the stability of Compound Chabai cream.
