Objective: This is a retrospective study. By collating of data of themycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP) medical records of the pediatric ward inLiaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital, analyzeclinical characters and Chinese medical syndromes of MPP patients and providea new thought for clinically studying children s MPP.Method:80medical records of MMP which were admitted to hospital are analyzedretrospectively. First of all, collate the general materials, clinicalmanifestations and the laboratory data. Second, contrast and sum up the collatingresults. Last, analyze clinical characters and the correlation between them andthe TCM syndromes. Results:About clinical global impression,100%of MPP cases are effective. Thescores of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes are analyzed by SPSS software, turning out P<0.05and explaining that treating MPP with integrated Chinese andWestern medicine is satisfactorily effective. About the results of otheranalysis:1Analysis of the main symptoms and signs: In infant and toddlers group,21cases have a fever and all have coughs; In preschool group,29cases have a feverand all have coughs; In schoolers group,18cases have a fever and20cases havecoughs. The fever of infants and toddlers are lower while that of preschoolersand schoolers are hihger; The comparison of the duration of fever between threegroups is significantly important(P<0.05),meaning schoolers and preschoolershave a longer fever duration that infants and toddlers.2The correlation between cough, fever and the syndrome of Traditional ChineseMedicine:The difference between wind-heat blocked lung syndrome and phlegm-heatblocked lung syndrome is significantly important (P<0.05). It s more frequentto have a fever in wind-heat blocked lung syndrome group with a higher possibilityof high fever. About cough, paroxysmal cough is more likely happens in phlegm-heat blocked lung group.3In the mid-state of MPP group, the tongue nature is mainly red and magenta. The tongue coating is mainly thin and yellow or thick and greasy. The pulse ismainly smooth, rapid and superficial. The index finger vein is mainly purpleor superficial purple. In the late-state of MPP group, the tongue nature is mainlylight red or dark red. The tongue coating is thin and white or desquamation. Thepulse is mainly thin, rapid and smooth. The index finger vein is mainly lightpurple.Conclusion:1MP can affected children of different ages. Therefore the clinical presentationsare quite different.2The most obvious characteristics of MPP are cough and fever. When they happensin different syndromes of TCM, they ll become different.3Early-stage and middle-stage of MPP children belong to heat syndrome of TCMwhile late-stage of MPP children belong to both qi-yin deficient syndrome.
