Objective: This study is to evaluate the clinical application of using Hollow Bone Trephine be sinus lifting and simultaneous placement of dental implants and further to explore the clinical feasibility and superiority of plate drilling and lifting.Methods:15 cases of patients with maxillary posterior teeth missing, planting area of residual ridge height is very low (3-5mm) and need of maxillary sinus floor elevation. After the application of Hollow Bone Trephine, the bone grafts were implanted in the bone, and the dental implants were implanted in the same period in 21. The comfort level of the patients was evaluated, and the X-ray films were observed. The height of the implant was observed, and the upper structure was repaired with 3~8 months after operation. The vertical height and the amount of bone were measured by 3~12 months after operation.Results:(1)15 cases of patients were treated with Hollow Bone Trephine and the maxillary floor elevation and were implanted in the maxillary sinus. X-ray films showed that the elevation of maxillary sinus floor was 4~7mm, and the average (5.24±0.43) mm.(2) All cases had not occurred of maxillary sinus floor rupture, only of local mild Swelling. After 4-6 months, the upper structure repairs were successful load.(3) Six months to a year and a half, the patients had no symptoms. All the dental implants were stabilitily, no losted or falled off,and the gingival tissues were health. The denture restoration effects were all satisfacted.Conclusions:(1) This method can improve the comfort level of patients with lower bone height, and reduce the pain index of patients.(2) This method is mainly applied to patients with lower bone height. Maxillary sinus lift height is still safe to reach 7mm. In the residual ridge height of 3mm, the area within the surgical implantation of 10mm can still secure dental implants. This broadens the scope of application of dental implants to a large extent.(3) This method reduces the amount of use of synthetic bone meal. Especially because of the use of autologous bone all patients have been of low bone-reduced during the follow-up.6 months after the patient’s bone resorption that is stabilized. Autologous bone implanted in situ is an economical, effective method.
