In the experimental forest land of Taishan and Luohanya forest farm, Water holdind capacity of litter,physical properties and nutrient content of surface soil and the amount of soil erosion were determined. the relations between canopy interception and its characteristic, and rainfall were studied on. Water conservation was assumed through comprehensively applying limiting capacity principle of forest intercepting rainfall and coordinate synthetic evaluation method based on the multidimensional space theory.1 Water holdind capacity of litter was different in the different stands,its order from high to low was locust forest, pistacia chinensis, the mixed forest of locust and sawtooth oak, acer mono maxim, sawtooth oak, orientalis, Japanese Red Pine, Chinese Pine, and it was higher in the broadleaf forest than the coniferous forest.2 The soil physical properties and nutrient content of surface soil were different in the different stands, those of broadleaf forest were better than coniferous forest. 3 rainfall retention rate by crown and trunk were17.33%-30.65 and 0.24-3.3%,Coefficient infiltration was 69.11-84.56%, average interception of canopy was 3.32mm in the mixed forest, and higher 9.21% than in the pure forest.4Calculation method of water conservation capacity of forest was improved for these indexes were considered such as interception of canopy, water holdind capacity of litter, retention storage amount, detained storage amountinfiltration capacity when it was calculated. And it was suggested that stable infiltration capacity of rainstorm for 120min added inevaluation of water conservation of forest.5 Comprehensively applying limiting capacity Principle of forest intercepting rainfall and coordinate synthetic evaluation method based on the multidimensional space theory, individual and comprehensive evaluation were done on 5 ecological indexes of many stands and vegetation types.
