Gamma-aminobtric acid (GABA) is a four-carbon non-protein amino acid that is widely distributed in virtually all prolaryotic and eukaryotic organisms as a significant component of the free amino acid pool. In animal,GABA functions as the predominant inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous and altermant operating with other neurotransmitters. In plant, GABA is widely distributed in all plant and all the organizes or apparatus. In growing plant, GABA keep a low level, when the plant bearing hot-shock,drought,frozen, mechanical stimulus and so on, GABA will increase superfluous. Its physiological role has been payed more attention under multifarious stresses in recent years. In the food industry domain, GABA has been widely used in drink, jam, pastry , biscuit , seasoner, and so on as a new-style function foodstuff factor .This research open out the GABA accumulate rule when maize seedling under high- temperature stress. Maize seedling under high- temperature while irrigating additional GABA solution will increase the content of maize seedling, this transformation can even increase the activity of SOD, POD and lessen the content of MDA. This change reacts positive function on maize seedling resisting high-temperature stress.Another research find different maizes have different content of GABA, the inhibitor can change the content of GABA in maize seedling, the ability of maize seedling resist adversity stress depend on the content of GABA .Three conclusions have educed from this research(1) The extraneous inhibitor GAD or SSADH can control the content of GABA in maize seedling, The content of GABA in maize seedling decides the ability of maize resisting adversity.(2) High-temperature stress can improve the content of GABA in maize seedling, about 36 hours the content of GABA in foot can reach three times and the shoot need 48 hours reaching the max.. (3) High-temperature stress can enhance the enzyme activity and lower injurant accumulation in maize seedling, this make positive function for maize seedling resisting high- temperature stress.
