Our country is one of the most serious soil erosion countries in the world, with its range throughout the country. While the soil erosion research develops from qualitative method to quantitative method, remote sensing plays an increasingly important role. However the difference between different remote sensing data getting from different sensors may have some effect on the monitoring result of soil erosion. So the exploratory research into comparative analysis of soil erosion based on multi-source and multi-scale remote sensing is meaningful in practice.Based on RUSLE model, this study have chosen TM, HJ-1A/1B and CBERS-02B data to calculate the amount of soil erosion in study area A and study area B, respectively in the Northwest Loess Plateau Area and North Rocky Mountain Area. According to the calculation result and the standard for classification and gradation of soil erosion, soil erosion intensity was obtained. By the comparative analysis of the soil erosion result of different data, different time and different area, it comes to the following conclusion. In a complete basin, the result of TM and HJ-1A/1B with the same resolution of 30m is similar, while it differs from CBERS-02B with a resolution of 19.5m. Applying TM, HJ, CBERS-02B to the soil erosion computation of the plot, which is not a complete basin, the result has no stable and regular law to follow. The study provides some experiences for the study of the relativity and comparative analysis of soil erosion result based on different resources and different resolution remote sensing data.
