It was hypothesized that allelopathy played an important role in biological invasion. Chromolaena odoratum is one kind of allelopathy plant. In this study, all compounds that consist in the C. odoratum were determined by biochemical way that relate to allelopathy examing. The inhibition of allelopathy compounds to the seedling hight, root length and fresh weight of radishes and heart of cabbages were determined and statistically analyzed. Allelopathy mechanism of C. odoratum was analyzed. The results were showed as below:Petroleum ether and chloroform extracts from C. odoratum were inhibitted to all the growth factors of plant seedlings in different degrees and inhibition is enhanced along with the increase of concentration of aqueous. The inhibition to root length will more than 85% whenρis 4mg/ml (P<0.01) and has significant difference. The inhibition to seedling light and fresh weight are 50% (P<0.05) and have significant differences. The result showed the allelopathy compounds mainly consist in Sherwood oil and chloroform solutions. It was found the compounds run great inhibition in the seeding growth of radish and heart of cabbages, and effect owe to them can go as stronger as increasing of compounds concentration in the solutions., particular in the plant root part. The inhibiting rates could be 80% at 2mg/ml of allelopathy compounds solution, and 90% at 4mg/ml of the one.. It can help plant to grow lightly when the aqueous extraction is at 2mg/ml.The allelopathy mechanism and compounds of Petroleum ether and chloroform extracts were basically identical, mainly live in the plant roots. Flavonoids from C. odoratum were main allelopathy compounds. Four allelopathy compounds incluing 3 flavonoids and 1 long chain fatty acid were seperated from C. odoratum. The allelopathy strength followed with the increase of concentration of purity. The inhibition rate was more than 80%(P<0.01) and have significant differences. Flavanone and flavonol have inconspicuous allelopathy. Positive octacosane acid have more content in C. odoratum and inhibitted to the seedlings of radishes.Chalcone and flavanone have two-way reaction. Under the action of both interchangeable, two compounds could mutual transformation. So, they have collaborative relationship, whereas this relationship do not exist in other components.
