Recent years, with the increasing of landscaping area, there is a gradual increase of waste generation and the traditional approach of incineration landfill has adverse impact on environment. With scientific utilization, the landscaping waste could become valuable organic resources and substitute for peat substrate after proportion. From 2008, this study analyzes the physical and chemical properties of composted landscape waste, matches with prime earth and perlite in accordance with Petunia, Coleus and Begonia's growth requirements and compares with flowers of peat substrate in the planting experiment, the results are as follows:In the flower cultivation experiment, the comprehensive evaluation index shows that:relative to domestic peat substrate, the composted landscape waste can effectively promote plant growth and plant quality. Substrates with different proportion of compost and earth have different effects on plant. In both petunia cultivation and Begonia Senzperflorens experiment,3:7 of composting products to prime earth is the optimal ratio. In coleus blumei cultivation experiment,5:5 of composting products to prime earth is the optimal ratio. In conclusion, the utilization of landscaping waste for plant substrate has broad application prospects. It can not only effectively reduce waste and solve issues like land resources occupation of waste landfill disposal and environmental pollution of improper treatment, but also meet the increasing national need of flower substrate and combine the ecological environment protection with social economy well together.
