A pot experiment was conducted with the leaves of 2-years old Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'with soil natural drought. At the 5th 10 th,15th,20th,25th,30th,35th day,stopping filling water with Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein', the effect of physiological characteristics under soil drought stress was studied by analysis the changes of leaf relative water content,water saturation deficit,relative conduction rate,chlorophyll, carotenoids, anthocyanin, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase,soluble protein, proline, soluble sugar,MDA,SOD,POD. At the 15th,20th,25th,30th,35th days restoring filling water,determination of related physiological indexes of them. Research in water stress and rewatering different times physiological and biochemical characteristics, the drought resistance ability was evaluated comprehensively by using factor analysis method. For the drought breeding and cultivation of colored plants provide theoretical basis. The results of the study indicate as follows:With the extending of soil drought, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'represent strong ability of fighting drought.As of prolonged drought stress, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein' declined leaf relative water content; Relative electric conduction rate,water saturation deficit, MDA, proline, soluble sugar shows ascendant trend; The soluble protein and SOD activity decreased at first and then ascendant; The activity of POD decreased at first and then increased,at last decreased. Another in photosynthetic pigment, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'chlorophyll and carotenoids as the number of days of soil drought stress increased are decreased at first and the increased,at last decreased;anthocyanin and PAL activity decreased at frist and then ascendant. Comprehensive analysis of the measuring results of each index judge Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'are strong drought resistance,and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'in the early drought resistance stronger,but with drought stress resistance is aggravating,less and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'gradually.In different time rewatering, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'are different degree recovery. Generally in drought stress condition, can be in stress at the 15th days after water won't affect both plants ornamental effect. Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine"s moisture characteristics recovery was more than Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'and in the first 20 days indrought stress relative water content after water appeared super compensation phenomenon. In addition, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'prolonged drought stress corotenoids larger damage,its restore ability are relatively weak. But Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein' of carotenoids has certain recovery capacity and chlorophyll restoring capacity weakly.After rewatering, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' and Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein' proline content,MDA content,soluble protein content at higher levels remain. Explanation that proper drought stress of drought resistance can improve protective enzyme system in complex water recobery capacity is not dignificant.Using the correlation analysis and factor analysis on the material 13 item physiological indexes to evaluate each index that there exist certain dependent relationship between. Through the factor analysis can draw relatively conductivity,the relative conduction rate, leaf relative water content,water saturation deficit, proline, soluble sugar,MDA can be used ad identification index,and uses the drought resistance comprehensive evaluation value Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' drought resistance than Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein', Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'> Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lutein'.
