With development of ecological environment preservation, recovery and restoration of vegetation hilly-gully regions on the Loess Plateau is still a fundamental measure to control soil loss, improve ecological environment and realize graceful landscape and sustainable development. With long-term study and practice, it indicates that, natural vegetation that distributes regularly in a zonal way according as natural environmental condition, is a most effective way to restore vegetation. Consequently, studying on distribution characteristics of natural vegetation is a principal task to accomplish greatly in recovery of vegetation.Based on field survey and statistical analysis, the article conducted a preliminary research into regularities of distribution and diversities of natural vegetation, at the same time, discussed distribution characteristics of natural vegetation at low altitudes, with the study of WangJiagou Watershed in the Loess Plateau. The results showed that experimental data and theoretical principle of ecological planning of natural vegetation in the Loess Plateau can be a reference to the further study of vegetation restoration in any alike watershed.First of all, the article statistically analyzed species diversity of vegetational type , the results indicated that, angiosperm accounts for a considerable proportion of vascular plants, while others bulked small, at the same time, natural vegetation distribution is characterized by the appearance of herbaceous plant, since it bulks large among the families, together with little vegetation and much little genera family and single genera family. Besides, the results suggested that types of vegetation distribution (the temperate zone does a most advantage is an important part of wild sloping, the Hemicryptophytes and Therophytes plants have an advantage in plant community, which reflected the characteristics of floral region in temperate zone.In addition, the results showed that longer severe cold season, deserta characteristics of drought climate in recent year ,and suitable plant species in local region. Furthermore, the article discussed the trait of space distribution of plant community in wild sloping. The results implied that vegetation distribution in different geomorphic types and watershed parts presents significant diversity.The principle will be further proved with analysis of distribution characteristic of plantcommunity. Eventually, based on ecological theories, the article discussed main ecological factors that influenced vegetation distribution in wild sloping, which implied that vegetation recovery should not only follows the order of nature of vegetation, but also regards the importance of objective factors, none but combination of the two, restoration of vegetation in watershed will achieve greatly.
