| Seed industry is a dominant industry in the course of agricultural development. In order to reform the seed production procedures in China, combined with production practice and characters of seed utilization, a four-stage procedure of seed production was suggested in the article referring to production experience of domestic and foreign after China entered into the WTO. The procedure is Breeder seed →Foundation seed→Registered seed→Certified seed. According to the needs of market economy, the high quality of seed, low costs, short period, simple and convenient method, high reproduction coefficient and fewer generations could be achieved to ensure the nature and purity of improved variety. The achievement of the integration of breeding, reproducing, and popularizing, the standardization of seed, the specialization of seed production, the establishment of legal system of seed management will benefit from the procedure which links the techniques of seed production in China to the advanced techniques abroad.The effects of the germination and field agriculture traits of breeder seed, the Yumai-10, were studied under different storage years in wheat. The production and preservation methods of the breeder seed were also studied and analyzed systematically. The results were as follows:1. The vigor of breeder seeds will be a downward trend along with storage time. The results shown there is a significant linear negative correlation up to -0.86 between vigor and storage time. However, compared with the CK, as far as the breeder seeds that experienced 5 years storage is concerned, there is no remarkable difference between the storage time and some indices such as germination rate, germination tendency, vigor index, bud lengths, root lengths, and the a-amylase etc. It suggests that the breeder seed still keep its nature under the condition of 5 year's dry storage. It was the same step as the substitution of older and new variety in wheat production.2. During the storage period of 5 to 6 years, there is no significent difference between storage time and some agricultural traits such as height of plant, regularity degree, spike number per plant, spikelet number per spike, kernel number per spike, 1000-seed weighaccording to T-test.Those are suitable for breeder seed that could be utilized several times through one time low generation breed dry storage.3. Breeder seed, which can be planted through the interbreeding methods of the per plant row separated by a fine line, the interbreeding methods of the many plant lines come from different fine plants,the interbreeding methods by selfing is seed resources of vary kinds of seeds. There are two methods to preserve it. One is chamber long period storage that adopts low temperature dry storage, normal temperature dry storage and cryopreservation technology. The other is field planting storage that utilize the cycling methods of the per plant row separated by a fine line^ the cycling methods of the many plant lines come from different fine plants, > the reproducing methods by selfing, and so forth. |
