Studied the behavioral regulation of plant volatile semi-chemicals to Pieris rapae L.. Using steam distillation and drip-rinsing process extracted volatile semi-chemicals of stem and leaves of lettuce, tomato, fennel, towel gourd, caraway and fineleaf schizonepeta herb respectively, based on the relations of insect and plant, through a series of experiments in field and laboratory, some preliminary works about behavior regulation of plant semi-chemicals to larvas and adults of Pieris rapae L. were done. The main results are summarized as follows:The number of eggs in field and effective Oviposition deterrency distances Interplanted tomato, fennel and fineleaf schizonepeta herb with cabbage in experimental field of Henan institute of science and technology. Investigated the number eggs of Pieris rapae L. on cabbage in different fileds. The results showed that the eggs in only-plant cabbage (CK) are 3.2times, 2.67times and 1.85times with interplant tomato, fennel and fineleaf schizonepeta herb. The oviposition deterrency distances are 6m interplant with tomato, and oviposition deterrency distances are 4m interplant with fennel and fineleaf schizonepeta herb. The effect of several plant volatiles to larva of Pieris rapae L. Stem and leave volatiles of lettuce, tomato, fennel, towel gourd, caraway and fineleaf schizonepeta herb were extracted by steam distillation and drip-rinsing process respectively, and tested the activity to larva of Pieris rapae L. in laboratory .The results showed volatiles of tomato, fennel and fineleaf schizonepeta herb have antifeedant activity. After 24h treatment Antifeedant rates of fennel volatile on 3rd-instar larvae of Pieris rapae L. in choice tests are 87.43%, still above 80% after treatment 48h. Toxicity of tomato and fennel volatiles on larvae of Pieris rapae L. be better than others. The mortality of fennel volatile treatment after 5 day is 66.32%. The mortality of lettuce and fineleaf schizonepeta herb volatiles has prominence difference with control. Expect towel gourd and caraway volatiles cannot influence growth of 3rd-instar larvae of Pieris rapae L.and others can bate growth of larvae. The effect of several plant volatiles to behavior of adult Pieris rapae L. The behavior response of Pieris rapae L.adults on cabbage treated with different volatiles showed that all have deterrent activity. The volatiles of tomato, fennel, fineleaf schizonepeta herb and...
