Concentrations of airborne endotoxin, airborne aerobic bacteria and airborne aerobic gram-negative bacteria were measured in two different duck feeding factories. At the same time, the quantitative relationships between the concentrations of airborne endotoxin and airborne gram-negative bacteria as well as airborne endotoxin and airborne aerobic bacteria were analyzed. The composition of the airborne aerobic gram-negative bacteria cluster was identified. We can deduce the danger to animal and human's health in terms of the distribution of airborne microbiological aerosol particle in Andersen six-stage sampler. And we analyzed the concentration of endotoxin and gram-negative bacteria in feedingstuff and feces to deduce the main source of airborne endotoxin and airborne gram-negative bacteria. Finally, concentrations of airborne endotoxin and airborne aerobic gram-negative bacteria in and out of duck houses were compared to describe the happening and spreading model of the airborne bacteria. Through this experiment, we laid the foundation to study and explore how environmental microbiology under intensive farming model impacted poultry, livestock and person.The study consists of four parts:Part I: The concentrations of airborne endotoxin and bioaerosol in duck housesThe airborne endotoxin was sampled by AGI-30 impinger and air samplers were collected in 50 ml pyrogen-free water. The concentrations of airborne endotoxin were determined by the Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) assay. The airborne aerobic bacteria and airborne aerobic gram-negative bacteria was sampled by Andersen-6 sampler and 5% buck blood-blood agar foundation media served as medium.
