Banana(Musa AAA Group) is one of the most important crops in the tropics and subtropics in the world. It plays a vital role in the agriculture production and social development in the tropical and south subtropical region of our country. But because of itself physiological characteristics and the limit of productive factors, it is very easy to suffer from water stress, which results in the large economic losses. Therefore, it is especially urgent to study the drought-resistant mechanism and develop effective chemicals to improve the drought resistance of banana .Physiological effects of one or several chemicals, salicylicacid(SA), betain(BT), spermidine(Spd), chitosan(CS), methyl jasmonate(MJ)or paclobutrazol(PP333), on Baxi banana variety seedlings were studied under solution of 10% PEG-6000 imitating water stress through design of randomized block or three-element quadratic regression orthogonal rotational combination. At the same time, three kind of chemicals which were best or better effective were selected in improvement of physiological effects on drought resistance of banana seedlings among above six chemicals. Comprehensive physiological effects of these three-chemical compound and their optimum concentration ratio between them on improving drought resistance of banana seedlings were further studied. Moreover, the multi-element mutual effects of physiological indexes about drought resistance were analyzed. Furthermore, physiological effects of optimum treatment time of three-chemical compound were also studied. The results were as follows:1. Application of SA, BT, Spd, CS, MJ and PP333 could all improve drought-resistant physiological effects of banana seedlings under water stress respectively. The results indicated that same chemicals but its different concentration or different chemicals had different physiological effects, their effects were :MJ>CS>PP333>BT>Spd>SA.2. Application of mix chemicals consisting of MJ,CS and PP333 with their optimum concentration ratio could enhance physiological effects of drought resistance of banana seedlings under water stress more effectively comparing to one-chemical application. The results showed that activities of protect enzymes such as superoxide dismutase(SOD) and peroxides(POD), proline(Pro),soluble sugar, soluble protein and relative water...
