Natural grassland is not only the base of living and development of Chinese pasturing area but the environment barrier to the expansion of desertification. In order to supply theoretical basis for the rational utilization and scientific programming, grassland construction and improving, environment protection and sustainable development, this paper studied estiminated grassland resources and tabled a proposal in Wushen Banner in Mu Us Desert, by ways of field and laboratory experiment, taking into account natural and economic properties and selecting several index. The main results are:(1)There are totally 400 grassland plants in Wushen Banner in subjection to 70.(2)With wind erosion increasing on different part of semimobile dune, the community species diversity decreases along the moisture grads from wet to dry. The community species diversity index presents trend to low-high-low in the recovering succession in desertified grassland.(3)The photosynthesis, lignt-temperature, climatic, and climate-soil potential productivity of Wushen rangeland each is 12.97, 6.9 and 2.67 times of actual productivity. The temperature, water and nutrition are the main factors affecting the grass productivity potential and the coefficient is 47%, 61% and 70% respectively.(4)The dimension of the third grade is the biggest, occupying 61.87% of the whole grassland in WuShen Banner and the fourth grade is second, taking 32.47%. According to the classification, the forth is the biggest, occupying 61.18% and the fifth is the second, taking 35.79%.To the whole, the quality of the grass is better ,but the quantity is lower.(5)The maximum theoretical livestock carrying capacity of the whole Banner is 112.89 million standard sheep and the actual carrying capacity is 198.75 million, overloading 85.86 million units.(6)The CN of the nutritive type of the grassland takes the big proportion, besides, there are CN-A and C types.
