The Establishment Of Forest Resource Inventory Management System And The Study Of Data Update Method

Forest Resources Inventory Management System, which mostly deals with the inventory information in forest resources, is one important part of the forest information management. In the paper, the situation of Forest Resources Inventory Management System and the data update method around the world were discussed. On this base, according to the demand of DangChuan Forestry Centre, belonging to XiaoLongShan Forest Bureau in Tianshui city, GanSu province, a forest resources inventory management system of forestry-centre-level was set up, which could run at the forestry centre's local area network, making use of the component technology, the integration technology for MIS and GIS, along with the network technology. In the system, the attribute data could be managed with the geometry data in an incorporate way, and be maintained and updated. According to these data, different kinds of report forms of the forestry centre could be stated and output, stock map and forest distribution map could be created. Furthermore, the system provided the function of data simulation, which could help forestry managers make decision.On the base of the Forest Resources Inventory Management System, some pilot study on the data update method within it was done. The data update model of variety storage and its method were put forward, according to the analysis of Space-Time Data Model, including Base State with Amendments Model, Record-Life Cycle Model, and Object-Oriented Spatial-Temporal Data Model. Moreover, the data update realization process using the data update method of variety storage was discussed, taking part of data in DangChuan Forestry Centre as the foundation.
