This study focused on taxus and their endophytic Fungi. The qualitative and quantitative characters of the Taxol-producing endophytic fungi had been analyzed. The evolutionary and genetic bases also had been discussed while we amplified for the first time a fragment of the gene coding BAPT (C-13phenylpropanoid side chain-CoA acyltransferase), one of the key enzymes in the taxol biosynthesis pathway from the fungi .At the same time, we established an easy and economical method to screen taxol-producing endophytic fungus. Introducing a VHB gene into one of the strains observably improved the growth rate in an oxygen limited condition. It provided good values to produce taxol by using zymotechnics.1 Isolation and purification of taxus endophytic fungiWe put the yew branches into triangle bottle with MS culture medium after surface sterilizer.
