In order to understand the epidemic situation of the swine influenza(SI) of the scale pig farm of Shanghai, we carried on epidemiology of SI and serological investigation to some pig farms of suburb county of Shanghai in 2001-2002, and the virus was isolated and identified.76 pig farms of 6 counties in Shanghai were investigated the epidemic state , the results verified that pig farms of Shanghai were generally taking place or had occurred SI, which often induced other diseases simultaneously to continue and caused certain economic losses to swine industry.Serological investigation was carried on to 25 pig farms of 6 counties of Shanghai , 500 serum samples were gathered and detected by the method of HI and ELISA. The results proofed that SI HI and H3 virus antibody existed in the pig serum. HI results suggested that SI HI virus antibody positive rate was 47%, H3 virus antibody positive rate 3.6%. ELISA results suggested that SI HI virus antibody positive rate was 57%. The positive of serum antibody of boars was obviously higher than pork pigs and child care pigs. The nose swabs of 192 pigs were gathered from 12 pig farms of 6 counties, three virus strains were separated through inoculating chicken embryos, and were determined SI H1 virus.
