| Chlamys farreri belongs to the near bottom of the sea roosts bivalvia class, not only it is one kind of the important sea ecological groups, also it is common cultivational variety in the domestic and foreign.Well known, Chlamys farreri and other bivalves can filter great volumes of water through their gills. Due to this behavior , they are exposed to many kinds of invasive and pathogenic microbes. Bivalves possess a robust and effective innate immune system to deal with this challenge . Their haemocytes play an important role in this process. At present, the reports about haemocyte sub-populations and function for scallop is very limited. Aslo, there is no universally accepted nomenclature for the various types of haemocytes and function. This paper emphatically studies the morphological and functional characterization of haemocytes in the scallop (Chlamys farreri). The haemocytes of the Chlamys farreri can be divided into three big categories or eight subpopulations. The study contributes to the immunological content of the invertebrates, and provides the theory basis which prevents scallop from disease. As an ideal tool in the distinction of blood types, one kind of the monoclonal antibody( X5B6) has been screened. The functional characterzations of haemocytes of the scallop Chlamys farreri are observed in vivo and in vitro. Phagocytosis is the most main function of haemocytes. The samples dealed with different methods bring about certain impact on the morphology and funcion of the haemocytes . |
