The wood color, chemical properties and pH value of plantation E.urophylla×E.grandis from eight families and three clones in Guangxi-Dongmen Forest Farm have been studied systematically according to the correlative methods. Then the obtained data were analyzed and discussed in details by means of mathematical statistic methods to seek the inheritance and variation regularities and the relationships in wood properties of plantation E. urophylla ×E. grandis. The results are as follows:(1) The plantation E.urophylla×E.grandis from eight families belong to high lightness woods, and its lightness tends to increase from the bottom to 3.3m. The absolute value of color tone visual parameters is generally upper.(2) With principal component analysis, the wood color parameters of plantation E.urophylla×E.grandis families are divided into three classes: the wood color a~* and C, the lightness parameter, color tone visual parameter.(3) In CIE(1976)L~*a~*b~* and Munsell color system, the chroma indexes among eight families have significant difference. The wood color parameters of DH33 family have extremely significant difference at 0.01 level besides the parameter Ag~* which only has significant difference at 0.05 level. In Munsell color system the chroma indexes of DH19, DH30, DH32 and DH33 families have extremely significant variation. While the color parameters of DH2 family has no distinct difference in Munsell color system. The color parameter L~*, a~* and b~* of DH2-2, DH12-2, DH16-1 and DH33-2 take on significant difference along the axial orientation. While the color parameter L~*, a~* and b~* of DH2-1, DH18-1 and DH18-3 have distinct difference along the height orientation as well as the color parameter L~*, a~* and b~* of DH30-1.(4) With clustering analysis the plantation E.urophylla×E.grandis are divided into three classes.(5) The radial variance: the ash content of plantation E.urophylla×E.grandis increase gradually except DH2 and DH12 families; The heartwood content of hot-water extractive, hot-water extractive and alcohol-benzene extractive are higher than that of the sapwood. The content of 1%NaOH extractive and pentosan decrease gradually...
