Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus), commonly known as map fish, which is distributed in the Amazon area , For example, Brazil and Venezuela. It is not only a very popular tropical ornamental fish , but also a commercially important species as food aquaculture production because of its taste and high protein value.The paper studies on the Influences of different water temperature and different stocking density on the feeding and growth of Juvenile oscar .The results are as followings:Compared with different water temperature groups when Juvenile oscar were stocked and reared in tanks, At lower temperatures (21-30℃). the rate of growth and food conversion in Oscar increased with increasing temperature. A further increase in temperature led to decreased rates. Oscar got the best growth rate and food conversion rate under 30℃. So we consider that the optimum temperature for growth is 30℃. It is reasonable to control water temperature in fish rearing.The results also show that the preferable daily feeding rate is 6-9% under 30℃ with increasing body weight of Oscar.Juvenile oscar were stocked and reared in tanks at a rate of 50, 100, 200 and 400 individuals/m~2 in the condition of calm water current and slow water current for 30 days. The results showed that there are significant differences in growth rate at the different stocking density condition, special growth rate and daily weight gain of the juveniles decreased with increasing stocking density. The fish in high density groups(200 and 400 fish/m~2) had great variation in size and growth. Lower density and water current had positive influences on growth for Juvenile oscar.
