Enuo No. 9, conventional rice variety with super-high quality, was selected and bred by a crossing between D0424S and Jinnuo No. 6. The female parent D0424S is an indica photoperiod-sensitive genic male sterile (PGMS) line, and the other parent Jinnuo No.6 is a glutinous rice. Enuo No. 9 was approved by Hubei Provincial Variety Approval Community in 2004. This variety can be planted as middle season, late season and ratoon rice in Hubei Province. In general the yield was 9000kg/ha, 8000kg/ha and 12000kg/ha or so planted as middle season, late season and ratoon rice, respectively. Enuo No. 9 has the characters of compact plant shape, deep green and erect leaves, strong culm, lodge-tolerance, and disease tolerance. The rice quality is also very good.Several experiments on cultivation technology of Enuo No. 9 were conducted in this study. The results revealed that: Enuo No. 9 could achieve highest yield by sowing from the middle of May to the beginning of June, applying 225.0-262.5kg/ha pure nitrogen, transplanting with the spaces of the range from 13.3 cm×23.3cm to 13.3cm×26.7cm, 5 to 8 seedlings per hill and less than 30 days in seedling bed; To get highest yield when it was planted as ratoon rice, the first crop should be harvested on Aug 10 to Aug 14, and remained the culm by the height of 45cm-50cm.
