Study On Strategies Of Basin Comprehensive Harnessing And Responses Of Runoff And Sediment To Soil And Water Conservation Measures In Huangfuchuan River Basin

Benefits of soil and water conservation measures in Huangfuchuan river basin were comprehensively analyzed based on analysis for environmental characteristics of soil erosion in Huangfuchuan river basin and its variation trend (including sources of runoff and sediment), changes in basic hydrometric cross sections, hydrological effect of soil and water conservation measures, coarse sediment trapping mechanism by check dams in district with abundance and coarse sediment, water demands for ecological environment projects construction. Utilization rate of water resources in Huangfuchuan river basin was also preliminarily estimated, and in further, its effects on Sanmenxia reservoir area and downstream channel were analyzed as well. According to the new situation of ecological environment construction in the middle Yellow River, ecological water demand in Huangfuchuan river basin was analyzed, and the short-term harnessing strategy was put forward, which highlight the important rule and action of Huangfuchuan river basin in the ecological environment construction in the middle Yellow River. The main conclusions of the study are given below:1. Runoff of Huangfuchuan River is mainly from area between Shagedu, Changtan, and Huangfu, while sediment is mainly from area above Shagedu. Sediment yielding source area is covered by soft rock. And gully area is main source of runoff and sediment yielding, where sediment and runoff amounts account for 66.2% and 61.4% of total values of the river basin respectively.2.
