Blastocyst implantation is a complicated biological phenomenon involving the recognition, adhesion and acception between blastocyst and endometrium and is the key of pregnancy During implantation, the endomctrium has the highest receptivity to the blastocyst .Many factors have been found play roles in this process, including hormones, cytokines, and adhesion molecules .Among them, lectin receptors are catching more and more eyes. Lectin receptors, which can combine with specific lectins are glycoproteins or glycolipids located on the cell surface .complexity of glycoconjugates research is due to the variety of the structures, carbohydrates become biomolecules carring large amounts of information. As informational molecule, glycoconjugates play essential roles in living organisms.More and more experiments have proved that lectin receptors participate the process of fertilization, blastocyst implantation and differentiation of embryo .the expression of lectin receptors in canine uterus during early embryo development and embryo implantation are stil unknown. To explore the relationship between implantation and the lectin receptors distributed in the endometrium,Affinity histochemistry method was used to study expression and hormonal regulation of ulex europaeus agglutinin receptors in rabbit and canine uterus during estrus cyctle and early pregnancy.Affinity histochemistry method was used to study expression and hormonal regulation of ulex europaeus agglutinin receptors in rabbit uterus during estrus cyctle and early pregnancy. We reached the result that UEA-1 receptors were mainly distributed at the luminal epithelial cells during early pregmancy ,but their quantity were quite different in different stages of the early pregnance.During the estrous cycle, positive signals had been found in rabbit uterus. There was positive signals onDay 1 of pregnancy in the surface of the luminal epithelium. The distribution of UEA-1 receptors grandually increaced and reached its highest level on Day 4 of pregnancy.but there was no positive signals on Day 5 and Day 7 of pregnancy;UEA-1 receptors in the uterus of ovariectomized rabbit was significantly stimulated by estrogen, but was inhibited by progesterone.the results showed that expression of UEA-1 receptors in the rabbit uterus showed stage-specific changes.these changes may be related to the adhesion between the blastocyst and endometrium during implantation;the expression of UEA-1 receptors in rabbit uterus was regulated by Matrix hormone, whether UEA-1 receptors are related with implantation is still unknown. To study the relationship between the distribution of peanut agglutinin (PNA) receptors in rabbit uterus and embryo implantation, PNA marked by biotin was used to observe the distribution and changes of the lectin receptors in rabbit uterus during the estrous cycle and early pregnancy. The ovariectomized rabbits were used as a model to research its hormonal regulation. The results showed that PNA receptors were mainly locolized on the surface of the glandular and luminal epithelium. During the estrous cycle, no positive signals had been found in rabbit uterus. There was no positive signals on Day 1 of pregnancy. PNA receptors staining gradually increaced from Day 2 of pregnancy and reached its highest level on Day 3 and Day 4 of pregnancy. The distribution of PNA receptors gradually declined from day 5 and reached a low level on day 8 of pregnancy. The distribution of PNA receptors was a little higher at implantation site than that of non-implantation site on Day 7 of pregnancy. The distribution of PNA receptors in pseudopregnant rabbit uterus was similar to that of normal pregnant rabbit uterus. Distribution of PNA receptors in the uterus of ovariectomized rabbit was significantly stimulated by progesterone and inhibited by estrogen. These results demonstrated that distribution of PNA receptors in the rabbit uterus might be related to the adhesion between the blastocyst and endometriumduring implantation. Its distribution in rabbit uterus was regulated by progesterone and estrogen.Affinity histochemistry method was used to study distribution and hormonal regulation of ulex europaeus agglutinin-1 receptors in canine uterus during estrus cyctle and early pregnancy. The results showed that UEA-1 receptors were mainly locolized on the surface of the glandular and luminal epithelium.During the diestrus cycle, no positive signals had been found in canine uterus. There was positive signals during the estrous cycle.the distribution of UEA-1 receptors gradually declined from Day 7 of pregnancy, but reached its highest level on Day 17 of pregnancy ,then the distribution of UEA-1 receptors gradually declined again from Day 20 and no positive signals had been found on Day 23 of pregnancy; UEA-1 receptors in the uterus of ovariectomized canine was significantly stimulated by estrogen, but was inhibited by progesterone.the results showed that expression of UEA-1 receptors in the canine uterus showed stage-specific changes.these changes may be related to the adhesion between the blastocyst and endometrium during implantation;the expression of UEA-1 receptors in canine uterus was regulated by Matrix hormone, whether UEA-1 receptors are related with implantation is still unknown.
