Daya Bay,a large local inlet and an important aquaculture area in Guangdong Province, has been seriously affected by human activities in the last decade. To further understand the phytoplankton community structure and its relationship to environmental factors in Aquaculture areas, a study was carried out on phytoplankton community and some physico-chemical factors from July 2005 to December 2005 in Aotou area of Daya Bay. Physical factors were measured in situ and nutrients and phytoplankton were measured after back to laboratory. Those physical and chemical factors included temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, Chl-a, conductivity, total organic carbon, total inorganic carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, urea. Phytoplankton community structure was analyzed with the help of a microscope.During the period of sampling, the environmental factors have little difference among stations, while dissolved oxygen varied among stations. Diatom occupied 78% in total 108 phytoplankton...
