Ertan reservoir area was ever one of the areas of serious soil and water loss in China.But with the two key Ecological Forestry Engineering-Natural Forestry Resoures Protecting Program and Converting Farmland to Forest Program were bring into effect one after the other, the biggish changes of the land use of the reservoir area will happen consequentially, which will bring a series changes of the nature phenomenon and zoology process,such as soil character,runoff plot,soil and water loss,the distributing of the species diversity, and so on.In this dissertation,based on integrated on techniques and methods such as Geographical Information System,Remote sensing,runoff plot experiment and field surveying, with the theoretical support of Landscape Ecology and Soil Erosion,the dynamic landscape pattern of land use and soil and water loss changes in 1988,1999 and 2003 were analyzed and discussed in detail.The main results are showed as follows:①The area percentage of farmland declines obviously,while the percentage of woodland,bush-land and grassland increases.②The number patches of farmland increases, mean path areas declines, path density inclines,the number patches of woodland increases,mean path areas increases,path density declines,the number patches of grassland increases,mean path areas increases, path density declines.③The AWMSI of farmland,woodland,bush-land and sparse forest land in 2003 is smaller than that in 1988 in some sort,which implies the shape of patch of these land use types is getting simple,while the AWMSI of grassland is becoming bigger.④From the land-level,the character of changes of landscape pattern were:the number patches increase, mean path areas decline,path density increase,LPI declines, which shows the degree of fragmentation increases.⑤landscape diversity is becoming bigger and the relative land use rationality index in 2003 is bigger than that in 1988,which means the land use structure is improved.⑥The soil and water loss status in Ertan reservoir area(Yanbian county) was improved greatly from 1988 to 2003.
