The pear moth (Grapholitha molesta Busck) is one of the most serious fruit boring insects in the world. It damages pear, apple, peach, haw, apricot and cherry, etc. There are many reports about synthesis of the pear moth's pheromone, those synthesis routes can be classified into alkyne routes and Wittig routes by the establishment of double bond . Double bonds can be introduced into chemical by alkyne routes, but raw material was difficult to acquire, and to get the mole ratio of Z/E with more activity, acetylenic link was always been selective deoxidizing. The Wittig routes had some flaws of long path and complexty operation This article mainly investigated the synthesis method of the pear moth's sex pheromone and the applied technique. The sex pheromone of Grapholitha molesta Busck was synthesized from Wittig reagent by using dimsyl sodium in DMSO as base combination, the yield of the synthesis is 34.8%.This synthetic method has advantages of starting material easily acquied and short route and so on, The structures of these products were identified by IR,NMR,MS. The major results outlined as follows:A successful synthesis route was set up in as follow:1 For the above scheme:a The yield ratio of the sigular Brominition was up to 84.7%, it's purity is about 98% by GC measurement.b The reaction condition between 8-hydroxy-alkyltriphenylphosphonium bromide and n-Butyraldehyde was investigated. The sex pheromone of Grapholitha molesta Busck was synthesized from Wittig reagent by using dimsyl sodium in DMSO as base combination, the yield of the synthesis is 34.8%.This synthetic method has advantages of starting material easily acquired and short route etc, The structures of these products were identified by IR,NMR,MS. The purity of chemical are above 90% and the mole ratio of Z/E is about 90% by GC-MS measurement.c. 8–dodecen-1-ol acetatein yield rate is 90%, the purity of chemical are above 95% by GC measurement.2 The rubber trap carrier containing the synthesized compounds was made and used to investigate the attractive effects in the field trails. The result showed that the compound had an effective effect as an attractant for the pear moth.3 The applied techniques of the synthesized attractant and another attractant was also been investigated. They can effectively trap two pests.The above results suggested that the synthesis route of the pear moth's sex pheromone is successful, and the basic technique waer confirmed by field trials.
