The Epidemiology Investigation And Prophylaxis Of Diseases Of Goats And Sheep In Pingyin County

With the development of the reform and opening,and with the raising of the people's life level ,the requirement for the goats and sheep meat,especially for the goats and sheep meat with high quality is on the increasing,the industry of the goats and sheep breeding has been promoted quickly.With the appearance of the large-scale breeding farms and te increase of the breeding density,a various of disease have also occurred,which have incurred great loss to the breeders.the systematic and through investigation was made to the goats and sheep of the Jinan fine goats and sheep breeding and popularizing center,and the corresponding measures were raised to the problems.The systematic and through study was made to the Contagious ecthyma(CE,Orf),the method of diagnosis and the vaccination procedure against the disease fit the situation of Pingyin'goats and sheep breed.At the same time,the effective method was explored.This provided good reference basis for prevent and control the disease omnidirectionly,and for reduce the harm to the goats and sheep breed.Four parts were included in the studies :Part one : The epidemiology investigation of diseases of goats and sheep in the farms of Pingyin countyAccording to the epidemiology of Jinan fine goats and sheep breeding popularizing center,and seven towns'farms in different location of Pingyin county,it was cleared that the infection rate and mortality of infectious disease,which as 58.7% and 5.7%,was higher than that of the common disease and the parasitic disease.The infection rate and mortality of the parasitic disease was 40.4% and 2.8%,and that of the common disease was 15.4% and 1.3%.The infectious disease mainly occurred in the spring and winter.The parasitic disease mainly occurred in the summer and atumn.The common disease may occure in any seasons.The susceptibility of different breed was different,and the ability of local goats and sheep to resist the disease was much higher than that of the imported foreign one.In the infectious diseases ,the infection caused by CE was most serious.The infection rate and mortality were higher,which was 42% and 3.7%.In the investigations,it was clear that the decrease of the breeding conditions could result in the increase of the diseases,which showed the importance of the management.Part two: The prophylaxis and the establishment of the efficient vaccination procedure about the important diseases of goats and sheep of Pingyin countyBased on the results of the Part one, the corresponding measures were presented to the infectious diseases, the parasitic diseases and the common diseases.According to the situations of Pingyin county,the vaccination procedure against the infectious diseases was made,and the apply result was good,and the emphasis was made on the CE and Mycoplama Pnrumonia.The infection rate of Lamb dysentery was high,harm was serious,thus increased the amount and times of three union-four prevent vaccine.The drug for disinsectization were selected based on different ages of the goats and sheep.The effective and less toxic drugs,such as fenbendazole,albendazole,ivermectin,lavamisole were selected.For the common diseases,the mainly occurred diseases were impaction of rumen,ruminal tympany,parturient paresie,fedeler milden and rot.This showed the importance of the dayly management.The disinfection was one important aspect of the daily management,different drugs and ways of disinfection were compared summarized and determined the efficient ones.Part three: The technology study of diagnosis and prevention treatment to Contagious ecthymaBased on the spread characteristic of CE ,sifted through the diagnosis method with the agar diffuse test.When use it in ptactice,the result was very accurate and practical.At the same time,the vaccination test and infection test to the goats and sheep that not flare up of disease had been done.The CE vaccine produced by Lanzhou vet research institute had been used,the protection rate was 80%.In the test,the methods of injdction in the oral cabity membrane and delimiting mark were used,but the method of delimiting mark was ideal.A the same time,7 towns'sixty-one thousand goats and fifty-four thousand sheep were vaccined.The morbidity of goats was 82% to 6.7%.The mortality was from12.4% to 0.5%.The six-month old weight was from 17.8kg to 21.3kg.The morbidity of sheep was from 76% to 5.4%,the mortality was from10.8% to 0.4%.The six-month old weight was from 23.4kg to 25.3kg.Part four: The test and study to CEBased on the CE'high infection rate,early infection day and hurry infecrion,the people could not know its harmfulness,Iexplored the methods to cure CE,when it occurred.Differenr cure methods were used to four groups of goats and sheep,their survival rate were 100%,100%,90%,90%.The contrast .group didn't be cured,its survival rate was 70% ,only and the course of disease was linger.The influence to growth and development were very serious.The synthetical control methods were selected,they included using antibiotic to diminish inflammation,anti-virus and part cure.At the same time ,the breeding and management were strengthened.The result was very good,and the methods were more simple,popularize them were very easy.The cure methods were used to 7 towns'thirty-four thousand goats was from twenty-eight thousand sheep of Pingyin county,the mortality of goats was from 13.6% to3.2%,the six-month old weight was from 17.8kg to 20.1kg.The mortality of sheep was from 12.4% to 2.9%,the six-month old weight was from23.4kg to 25.3kg.The result were very obvious.
