People are interested in improving production of dairy cattle over the last decade, meanwhile the trend to poorer fertility and longevity is obvious, and a decline in economic has been observed. So man has already realized that man shouldn't only placed importance on production traits during the selection & breeding of cow, also we should place our eyes on fertility, longevity traits and so on. This requires reliable estimates of factors, especially body type traits, which have important impact on those traits referred to above. In this study, the relationships between liner type and 305-d milk, interval of calve (CI), functional herd life (FHL) in Holsteins are analyzed, in order to meet the requirement of national modern cattle husbandry and breeding management.Data in this study consisted 20,127 records of 2034 cows in the No.1 Cattle Farm of Jiabao Company from 1997 to 2006, and, each of the cows have been given liner type score at least once. Data above are analyzed through the software of SAS9.0 and MTDFREML, in order to get to the objects as follows: (1) Finds factors that have important impact on 305-d milk, CI, and FHL, and establish the corresponding regression equations. (2) Evaluates the Correlated Coeffients of linear type traits, composite traits with 305-d milk, CI, and FHL.The results of this study shows: (1) foot angle, pin width, udder texture, body condition score, and chest width shows the strongest positive relationships with FHL, the phynotypic correlations are 0.645,0.61, 0.420, 0.50326, 0.442, while, udder depth, median suspensory and udder width and so on shows no-significant negative impact on FHL, and the phynotypic correlatins are -0.057, -0.015 and -0.006, also a regression equation is obtained as follow: y=-701.556+0.099X1+0.005X2+7.691X3+16.646X4+10.425X5+ 13.128X, and the R-square of this regression model is 0.8934.(2) Front end, size, chest width, pin settings, pin width, foot angle, udder depth, body condition score shows negative relationships with 305-d milk, the phynotypic correlations are from–0.103 to–0.009. And other traits, shows positive impact on 305-d milk, for example, the phenotypic correlations of bone quality, median suspensory, udder width and dairy form with 305-d milk are significant , and they are 0.08624, 0.05147, 0.06236, 0.07323 and 0.07692. Also a regression equation is established as follow: y=-701.556+0.099X1+ 0.005X2+7.691X3+16.646X4+10.425X5+13.128X, and the R-square of this regression model is 0.8934.(3) Pin settings, pin width, udder quality, median suspensory, front attachment and dairy form show positive impact CI, and the Correlated Coeffients of the traits with CI are significant. Menwhile, the relationship between body condition score and CI is negetive. A regression equation is established as follow:y= 221.466+0.0047385X1+0.2881840X2+0.9689373X3- 0.4973386X4+1.2027811X5-6.5679612X6, and the R-square of this regression model is 0.5921.
