| The resistance comparison of eleven alfalfa varieties to aphid and regional adaptability experiment of new alfalfa line HA-3 were carried on during 2005 to 2006, in order to select out the alfalfa varieties which were high resistance to alfalfa aphids, and provide the theory for promotion of'HA-3'.1. Resistance of Eleven Alfalfa Varieties to AphidThe resistance of eleven varieties to aphid complex in which spotted alfalfa aphid was predominant species was studied in the field conditions and lab conditions in Gansu Agricultural University (LanZhou) in 2005. The field results showed that'Debao','gannonNo3','Defu','Aergangjin','ZhongmuNo1','Sandeli','WL232','X0010'were classified as high resistant; The lab results showed that'gannong No3','X0010','Jinhuanghou','Hunter river','ZhongmuNo1','Longdong','Aergangjin','Defu'were high resistant; The analysis indicated that the resistance of alfalfa to aphid complex was characteristic of metric inheritance, the resistance of different alfalfa varieties to the aphid complex in seedling was different with the resistance in adult plant.2. Regional Adaptability Experiment of New Alfalfa LineHA-3The regional adaptability experiment in the phonological period, Summer surviving rate, growth speed, plant height, yield, and stem/leaf ratio, trait of root etc of new line of alfalfa (Medicago sativa), HA-3, was carried out in GanSu Province's LanZhou, LinXia, HuiXian and HeNan Province's ZhouKou in 2005- 2006.According to comparing on the phonological stages of the 3 alfalfa lines, we found that'HA-3'had the fastest seedling speed. In LanZhou, the seedling time of'HA-3','gannong No3','jinhuanghou'respectively was 5 days, 6days, 7days. In LinXia, the seedling time of'HA-3','gannong No3','jinhuanghou'respectively was 15 days, 16days, 17days. The seedling time in HuiXian, ZhouKou was similar in LanZhou. Accordly the branching, showing buding and early buding of'HA-3'was earlier than'gannong No3'and'jinhuanghou'. Moreover,'HA-3'has the highest yield. In LanZhou, the fresh yield of'HA-3','gannong No3','jinhuanghou'respectively was 87333.3kg/hm2, 61533.3 kg/hm2, 55200 kg/hm2 in 1 year; the hay yield of'HA-3','gannong No3','jinhuanghou'respectively was 23908.14 kg/hm2, 13375.51 kg/hm2, 14012.56 kg/hm2.By multiple compared, there was remarkable difference among 3 lines (P<0.05).In HuiXian, the fresh yield of'HA-3'was 63516.7kg/hm2 in 1 year, this fresh yield was 13.7% higher than'gannong No3'and 18.1% higher than'jinhuanhou', the hay yield of'HA-3'was 16056.02kg/hm2 in 1 year, was 13.66% higher than'gannong No3'. By multiple compared, there was very remarkable difference of hay yield among'HA-3'and'jinhuanghou'(P<0.01).In ZhouKou, the fresh yield of'HA-3'was 54500.1kg/hm2 in 1 year. By multiple compared, there was remarkable difference of fresh yield among'HA-3'and'gannong No3'(P<0.05), very remarkable difference among'HA-3'and'jinhuanghou'(P<0.01), the hay yield of'HA-3'was 10639.1kg/hm2 in 1 year. By multiple compared, there was remarkable difference of hay yield among'HA-3'and'gannong No3','jinhuanghou'(P<0.05).In LinXia, the fresh yield of'HA-3','gannong No3','jinhuanghou'respectively was 88333.4kg/hm2, 72573.3 kg/hm2, 68366.7kg/hm2 in 1 year. This fresh yield of'HA-3'was 21.7% higher than'gannong No3'. By multiple compared, there was remarkable difference of fresh yield among'HA-3'and'jinhuanghou'. The hay yield of'HA-3''gannong No3','jinhuanghou'respectively was 20813.59kg/hm2, 16741.47 kg/hm2, 16254.47 kg/hm2 in 1 year, by multiple compared, there wasn't remarkable difference of hay yield among three lines.But the hay yield of'HA-3'was 24.32% higher than'gannong No3'and 28.05% higher than'jinhuanhou'.The fresh yield of LinXia, LanZhou, HuiXian, ZhouKou respectively was 76424.46 kg/hm2, 68022.19 kg/hm2, 57733.33 kg/hm2, 44944.54 kg/hm2. The fresh yield of alfalfa in LinXia is the biggest in above four areas.In nutritive value,'HA-3'has the minimum ratio of stem. In growth speed and average height of lines,'HA-3'was higher than check varieties.In summer surviving rate, the 3 alfalfa lines can safely over summer in LinXia, LanZhou, HuiXian. But the summer surviving rate was low in ZhouKou.The summer surviving rate of'HA-3'was 86.3%. The summer surviving rate of'jinhuanghou'was 63.9%. The summer surviving rate of'gannong No3'was 60.2%. So the summer surviving rate of'HA-3'was higher than'jinhuanghou'and'gannong No3'. In stress resistance aspect, the comprehensive behavior of the 3 lines'HA-3'was the best. In trait of root, the lateral root of'HA-3'was more than two check varieties, the resistance to drought of'HA-3'was beter.The regional adaptability experiment in the phono period, summer surviving rate, growth speed, plant height, yield, and stem/leaf ratio, trait of root etc of new line of alfalfa (Medicago sativa), HA-3, was carried out. The results showed HA-3 was more adaptable to ecological environment in above four areas and surpassed two check varieties, should be expanded in above four areas. |
