Three different ecotypic cucumber variety Jinchun No.5,Chunqiuwang and Huza No.6 were used as test materials and Europe type "Ctiunqiuwang" and South China type "Huza No.6" were grafted onto 4 different rootstocks. In order to study the effects of low temperature, poor light and graft on the growth, development and physiological characteristics of cucumber at seedling and bloomingand fruit stage. The main conclusion was as follows:1.Lower(20℃/12℃)and critical temperature(15℃/8℃)and poor light(40μmol·m-2·S-1, 70μmol·m-2·S-1)both could obviously reduce plant height, stem diameter and leaf length of cucumber seedlings. But on leaf width their effect was not remarkable. The lower temperature and poor light was smaller than the critical low temperature and poor light influence.2.Under the different low temperature and poor light treatment, the soluble protein content overall assumed the trend of escalation of cucumber at seedling stage. osmoregulation material soluble sugar and praline content were higher than the comparison.POD activity descended after firstly ascending, and the CAT activity reduced. The MDA content obviously increased.3.After various ecotypes cucumber carries on low temperature and poor light processing, the chlorophyll content and net:photosynthetic rate reduced gradually.Under lower temperature and poor light condition, three kind of ecotype different cucumber leaf blade FV/Fo and Fv/Fm dropped compared to comparison, but it was not remarkable. After critical low temperature and poor light treatment,Fv/Fo and the Fv/Fm remarkable dropped. After treatment qP obviously reduced,qN remarkable increased,φPSⅡand the ETR value reduced.Different temperature and light environment had different influence on the varieties.4.Sustained lower temperature and poor light caused younger fruit abortion of the different ecotype cucumber, first female flower location of node rose, female flower number and fruit number each plant reduced.Above all,Chunqiuwang had strong tolerance to low temperature and poor light. All indexes surpassed Jinchun No.5 and Huza No.6.5.Survival rate differed for the trial 4 kind of pumpkin stocks and cucumber, but the survival rates were all above 75%,which had favorable graft compatibility.Among them, the survival rates of two kinds of scions and Shengzhen No.3 were respectively 91.9% and 97.2%,which showed their compatibility better.6.Taken Chunqiuwang as scion's graft seedling had short cicatrization period, and blade's growth rate less than self-root cucumber seedlings. But Huza No.6 was opposite to Chunqiuwang, and the difference was remarkable.Graft could increase main vine panel length, the stem diameter and the functional leaf width of cucumber at blooming and fruit stage, but different stock and scion's performance were different.7.The chlorophyll content of leaf blade dropped obviously in the senile process, but in graft seedlings was higher than in self-root cucumber seedlings.Soluble protein content in graft seedlings was also higher than in self-root cucumber seedlings at later growth period,in which Huza No.6 graft seedling's soluble protein content was extremely remarkable to the offspring, but it was not remarkable in Chunqiuwang graft seedlings.8.Along with the cucumber plant MDA content increased, protection enzymes SOD and POD activity increased first, then reduced at third week seedling age.Protection enzymes activity in graft seedlings was higher than self-root seedlings.MDA content was remarkable lower than self-root seedlings.9.Different stock identical scion grafts compared from the root cucumber, soluble protein and sugar content were increased, and VC content performanced dropping tendency.
