Leymus chinensis (Trin.) Tzvel., a perennial species of Gramineae, is an important constructive species on the east of Eurasian grassland, distributed in the eastern region of the Eurasian steppe zone, including the outer Baikal area of Russia, the northern and eastern parts of the People's Republic of Mongolia, the Northeast China plain, the Northern China Plain, and the Inner Mongolia Plateau of China. L. chinensis is a rhizomatous perennial herbage species of Gramineae, and adapt to different environments, and there are important significance in improvement of ecological environment and management of saline-alkaline land of north grassland of our country.Wild L. chinensis was the targeted experiment material in this dissertation, and comparative study of development character and dynamic regulation were conducted on L. chinensis of three colors in leaf and in two habitats. The results showed that:(1)The result of one-way analysis of variance and multiple comparisons of quantity character of reproductive tillers of L. chinensis of different colors and in different habitats showed that, the height of L. chinensis of Grey ecotype and Yellow-green ecotype increased, and the accumulation of biomass increased, and the contribution to asexual reproduction increased in H1 habitat. The investment to sexual reproduction of L. chinensis of Grey-green ecotype in H2 habitat increased.(2) The result of development dynamics of vegetative branches on L. chinensis of three colors in leaf and in different habitats showed that the age of leaf and the height of tiller of three colors in leaf and in different habitats were H1>H2, which showed that H1 habitat was favorable to the growth of the height of tiller and the age of leaf. Growth rate of the height of the tiller showed relatively stable regulation, namely, Grey ecotype > Yellow-green ecotype> Grey -green ecotype, which showed that the height of the tiller of different colors of L. chinensis was relatively stable, and the growth rate of Grey ecotype was better than that of the two others.(3) Relevance analysis of the age and size of the leaf on L. chinensis of three colors in leaf and in different habitats showed that the length and width and area of the leaf of L. chinensis of three colors in leaf and in different habitats were all H1>H2, which showed that H1 habitat was favorable to photosynthesis of the leaf. The length and width and area of the leaf of L. chinensis were all Yellow-green ecotype > Grey ecotype> Grey -green ecotype in the same habitats but different colors of leaf, which showed that the size of the leaf of L. chinensis was stable, and the size of the leaf of L. chinensis of Yellow-green ecotype was higher than that of the two others. (4) Study on the relationship of vegetative tiller biomass, stem biomass and leaf biomass of L. chinensis in different habitats and of different leaf colors indicated that the stem biomass and leaf biomass zoomed and achieved quite significant positive correlation as the single tiller biomass increased. All the growth rates of stem were Grey ecotype>Yellow-green ecotype > Grey -green ecotype. Either L. chinensis in H1 habitat or H2 habitat in the same habitat but of different leaf colors showed that growth rate of the stem of Grey ecotype was higher than that of the two others.
